Upon arrival at Málaga Airport – Costa del Sol, you will be personally welcomed by Jan Gerard, your personal travel guide for this trip. From the airport, you will depart by comfortable private transfer to Jerez de la Frontera, with time for a coffee and photo stop along the way. During the drive, Jan Gerard will share stories about Andalusia, the region around Cádiz, and, of course, Jerez de la Frontera—the city of sherry, horses, and flamenco. First introduction to Jerez
After arriving in Jerez de la Frontera, you will check into a beautiful boutique hotel. After some time to relax, you will join Jan Gerard for an initial walk through the historic centre. We will stroll past Plaza del Arenal, the narrow streets of the old town, the cathedral, historic city palaces, and the atmospheric Santiago district. This first evening features a tapas dinner with typical Andalusian dishes, such as gazpacho, Iberian ham, local cheeses, hot tapas, and a regional meat or fish dish, accompanied by Jerez wines. After dinner, we will take a short walk through the beautifully illuminated city centre.
After a local breakfast, you will join Jan Gerard for a visit to the Alcázar of Jerez, one of the city's most significant historical monuments. Here, you will explore Jerez's Moorish past, its ancient fortifications, gardens, and historic buildings. Next, we will visit the impressive Catedral de San Salvador (Cathedral of the Holy Saviour) and the Iglesia de San Miguel, accompanied by an English-speaking guide. We will also enjoy a delicious tapas lunch at a local restaurant in the city centre, followed by a walk to the historic Bodega Tradición for a guided tour to discover how sherry is made and aged in the famous soleras. The tour concludes with a tasting. Once back at the hotel, there is time to relax with a siesta for those who wish to recharge for a Flamenco dinner. An evening of authentic Andalusian flamenco combined with dinner—music, dance, and gastronomy come together for a wonderful end to the day.
After breakfast, you will depart with your private driver and Jan Gerard towards Sanlúcar de Barrameda. An initial introduction to the historic center of Sanlúcar begins with a walk through the old streets, a visit to a traditional bodega, and an introduction to the unique Manzanilla of Sanlúcar. For this visit, Jan Gerard has chosen Bodegas Barón, a small-scale bodega where you will discover the criaderas and soleras of various Manzanillas. For a delicious lunch, we head to Bajo de Guía, the famous area by the old harbor and the river. Here, we will take our time for a wonderful seafood lunch at the old harbor at the delightful Casa Bigote, located right on the Pórtico Bajo de Guía. Enjoy a relaxed meal, good wine, great conversation, and the view over the river. After lunch, we will take a leisurely stroll along the river with views towards the mouth of the Guadalquivir and the Doñana area before returning to Jerez de la Frontera. Upon returning to our hotel, there will be some time for yourself to relax with a siesta, shop for souvenirs, or perhaps go for a walk. Because lunch was substantial, we will keep dinner intentionally light: local cheese, Iberian ham, olives, small tapas, and salad.
After breakfast and checking out of our hotel, Jan Gerard will introduce you to the Andalusian horse. A visit to the Real Escuela Andaluza del Arte Ecuestre is a wonderful part of the program. Here, you will learn more about breeding, training, and dressage traditions, followed by the show "Cómo bailan los caballos andaluces" — literally translated: how the Andalusian horses dance. It is the famous performance of the Real Escuela del Arte Ecuestre. After the equestrian program, we will enjoy an aperitif together, followed by a late lunch featuring delicious tapas before we begin our return journey to the Costa del Sol airport in Málaga. With many impressions and a suitcase full of memories of the beautiful Jerez de la Frontera, Jan Gerard will personally bid you farewell.

No, flights from the Netherlands to Málaga and back are not included in the trip price. Jan Gerard will provide suitable flight suggestions in advance so that your arrival and return journey align perfectly with the program.
