Arrival at Costa del Sol Airport in Málaga (AGP). We begin the first day of this exciting trip in Málaga. In the old town, we will start with a walking tour led by a local guide who will tell you everything about this beautiful city. The walk will take you past the Alcazaba of Málaga and the city's stunning cathedral, among other sights. Afterward, we will enjoy a light lunch featuring typical local Spanish products. Following lunch, we will head to our accommodation for the night, a traditional Spanish Casa Rural. Once you have checked in and settled in, you will have some free time to yourself. Dinner this evening will be at one of Jan Gerard’s favorite restaurants in Málaga.
After a delicious, traditional Spanish breakfast, we will spend the morning visiting the Picasso Museum in Málaga. Here, you can enjoy the stunning permanent collections and exhibitions by and about this world-famous painter—a must-see when you are in Málaga. Following this visit, we will drive toward Ronda, stopping along the way for a wonderful lunch. Once we arrive in Ronda and have checked into the Casa Rural where we will be staying, Jan Gerard will take you to the Puente Nuevo. Afterward, there will be time to stroll through the charming shops and boutiques of Ronda or relax on a lovely terrace. Dinner this evening will be at one of the best tapas restaurants in Ronda.
After breakfast, a local guide will surprise us with a beautiful walking tour through Ronda. All the highlights of this stunning city will be covered, and the walk will last approximately two hours. For lunch this afternoon, we will head to the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Bardal, where top chef Benito Gómez and his team will pamper us completely with his delicious dishes. Restaurant Bardal is located in the old part of Ronda near the Plaza de Toros. In the evening, you can enjoy the impressions and flavors experienced at restaurant Bardal at your own pace, relax at the Casa Rural, or perhaps take another stroll.
After breakfast and checking out of our Casa Rural, we will visit La Casa del Rey Moro. This includes the water mine from the Nasrid period (14th century), one of the best-preserved examples in Spain. The house, built in Neo-Mudéjar style, was conceived by the Duchess of Parcent at the beginning of the twentieth century. The garden was designed in 1912 by Jean Nicolas Forestier at the request of the Duchess. After this visit, we will conclude our time in Ronda and return to Málaga for the journey back to the Netherlands. At Málaga Costa del Sol Airport, Jan Gerard will personally bid you farewell, leaving you with wonderful impressions and memories.
