Day 1 ~ Arrival in Málaga & Drive to Arcos de la Frontera

Upon arrival at Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport, you will be personally greeted by Jan Gerard, who will be your personal guide throughout this trip. From the airport, we will immediately set off on a beautiful route, partly along the coast. Along the way, we will make time for a relaxing coffee and photo stop, driving via Tarifa and Barbate toward Chiclana de la Frontera. Here, we will have lunch at El Cuartel del Mar, housed in a beautifully restored former military coastal building. It is a unique seaside location and a wonderful place to begin our culinary journey through Andalusia. Afterward, we continue through the Andalusian landscape to Arcos de la Frontera, one of the most beautiful white villages in Spain. We will check into our wonderful Casa Rural, our accommodation for the coming days. We will conclude this first day in style with a delicious tapas dinner at restaurant La Carcel.

Day 2 ~ Cádiz: Flavors of the Sea

After a local breakfast, we drive to the oldest city in Western Europe: the beautiful city of Cádiz. We will stroll through narrow streets, visit the lively Mercado Central de Cádiz to soak up the local atmosphere, and stop by the Cádiz Cathedral, known as ‘Santa Cruz sobre las Aguas.’ Our first Michelin-starred* lunch will take place at ‘Código de Barra,’ where innovative dishes meet traditional flavors. The head chef of this renowned restaurant is the Dutch-born Leon Griffioen. Upon returning to Arcos de la Frontera, there will be a delicious, light dinner later in the evening at one of the local restaurants.

Day 3 ~ Wine Experience in the Sierra de Cádiz

A day dedicated entirely to wine and craftsmanship. We begin with a visit to Finca Moncloa, founded in 2000 and home to a 45-hectare vineyard. A tour of the vineyard and stories about the wines, followed by a tasting, makes for a wonderful start to the day. For lunch, we will immerse ourselves in a series of delicious rural Andalusian dishes prepared by chef Andra de Domingo. After this delightful lunch, we will drive to the renowned Bodega Tesalia, located in the beautiful rolling hills of the Sierra de Grazalema. Here, too, you will enjoy a tour of the vineyards and the winery, followed by a tasting of the wines lovingly produced at Bodega Tesalia. Finally, we continue our wine route to Bodega Huerta de Albalá, also located in the Sierra de Grazalema. Here, we will once again dive into the winemaking process with a tour of the winery and cellars, followed by a wine tasting. The evening concludes with a delicious dinner accompanied by fine local wines from the region.

Day 4 ~ El Puerto de Santa Maria & 3-Michelin-starred restaurant Aponiente***

El Puerto de Santa Maria is one of those hidden gems you simply have to see. A beautiful walk along the river boulevard takes you past the “Puente de las Galeras,” and we will visit the Real Plaza de Toros in El Puerto, one of the largest bullrings in Spain. Even if you aren’t a fan of bullfighting, the architecture and scale are well worth admiring. Beyond the culture, we are here for the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Aponiente***, led by top Spanish chef Ángel León. In an impressive setting, we will enjoy world-class dishes. Impression after impression, flavor after flavor, refinement at its absolute best, and details that will leave you stunned. You are in for a lunch of unparalleled quality, promising a truly fantastic experience. After this magnificent lunch, we will head back toward Arcos de la Frontera, with an opportunity for a light meal later in the evening for those who wish.

Day 5 ~ Ronda: Highlights & Stars

After breakfast, we say goodbye to our Casa Rural in Arcos de la Frontera and drive towards spectacular Ronda. We explore the historic city, famous for its impressive gorge and ancient bridge. Afterward, a culinary highlight awaits at Bardal, the two-Michelin-starred restaurant of top chef Benito Gómez and one of Jan Gerard's personal favorites. Here, we enjoy a refined seasonal menu that focuses on pure Andalusian flavors and regional products. After this special lunch, we check into our accommodation in Ronda for the night.

Day 6 ~ Return to Málaga

After a final breakfast together, we travel back to Málaga airport. With a suitcase full of memories and new inspiration, you say goodbye to an unforgettable culinary journey.
